Grinding out ska since they began in a stinky damp basement in 1995 in South Minneapolis, Umbrella Bed is still going strong. Clear proof that not one member of the band has any sense or taste.
Now into their second century and far too proud to collect their pensions, the band continues boldy on, providing their fans and themselves with a litter-strewn plain of shows, recordings and exhausted audiences from their home base in Minneapolis to more exotic climes like Indonesia.
Umbrella Bed is with European ska label Mad Butcher, has five full-length CDs, two videos, a seven inch, has music in two movies, a hatful of MMA nominations and is on more ska comps than you can count on your fingers.
Umbrella Bed boasts a ten member line up consisting of drums, a twin-guitar assault, singer, bass and the heaviest metal in the universe - the five-piece horn section from hell - the Horns of Mass Destruction.
With the release of their fifth CD titled Go, they offer yet another cavalcade of strangely disorienting songs about shoes, underwear and beer.
